She was born in Istanbul. She continued her studies after primary school at ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory Department of Instrument Mastery. Following her graduation from ITU, she completed her Master’s Degree in 2008 in Halic University.
Since her school years she performed concerts in the country and abroad (France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, USA, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Oman, India) with various communities, orchestras and artists.
She entered TRT Istanbul Radio Institution in 1999 as a ney artist. She took part in various radio and TV programs.
She started working as an Instructor at Halic University State Conservatory in 2004.
Between 2008 adn 2013, she raised a lot of students at Turkish Culture Service Foundation Caferaga Madrasa.
She voiced Hezarfen Ney Concerto composed by Fazıl Say in Mannheim, Germany, which was a world premiere.
She performed a solo concert in 2012 at World Flute Festival, New Delhi, India.
She won Echo Classic Jury Special Award, one of the most prestigious musical recognitions in Europe, for her solo performance at Fazıl Say’s Istanbul Symphony work owing to her artistic bridging representation between the East and the West.
She released her “Neyzen” album in 2012, which is the first solo album by a female ney performer.
Her book about ney training called “Teaching Ney with the Meshk Method” was published in English and Turkish by Pan Publishers in 2013.
She still works as an Instructor at Halic University State Conservator, tutors ney classes, conducts various works of art with artists and bands and performs concerts with her own band Karadag Ensemble in various parts of the world.
